I hope you had a good summer? 🙂
I've had some time to brainstorm on the content of the next infomails - and you can look forward to it. There are some great things in store.
But first, let's take a look at the introduction of the Danish Road Tax from 1 January 2025 ⬇️
Danish road tax and its supplements
From 1 January 2025, trucks weighing 12 tonnes or more will have to pay a tax to drive on the majority of state roads and some municipal roads.
It is expected that the tax will cover around 75% of the total number of kilometres driven by trucks in total.
You can see a map of where there are tolls here.
We're keeping a very close eye on the impact this will have on freight rates for 2025.
Right now, nothing has been announced from the carriers yet. But based on our calculations, we expect the surcharge for road transport to be between 8-14%.
As soon as the first carriers announce something concrete, which we expect to happen soon, you will hear from me again.
Then everyone is prepared for the 2025 negotiations.
Next infomail: Tenders and negotiations
It's almost time for negotiations and new freight agreements for many.
That's why in the next infomail I will focus on what you should pay special attention to in the 2024-2025 tender process.
But also what trends we see from our market data that might be important for you to consider.
Start your tender now
I My latest LinkedIn posting I talked about how you can ease the workload for both you and your carrier by starting to send out materials and get prices for your tender already in early autumn.
We have good experience of starting the tendering process now.
If it seems a bit overwhelming to get started, here's our guide "Tender process from A-Z" for free.
In this guide, you'll get an overview of what a simpler and clearer tender process looks like, an example of a straightforward tender letter, and a template on how to focus on the soft values.
And if you prefer video format - I've also answered the 12 most frequently asked questions about tenders. You can get this right here.
To sum up
As always, feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
See you again for the next infomail 👋
Sincerely yours
