Hi.

I hope you're off to a good start in the new year?

Now that we're a few months into 2026, we've analysed the actual price increases across road transport, courier and parcel distribution.

And the results are interesting - so let's take a look at them.

Actual price increase: 3.4% on average

Across road transport, courier and parcel distribution, it ended average price increase of 3.4%.

This is interesting because many carriers announced increases of between 3-9% in their price communication.

This again shows how important it is to Challenge price increases instead of just accepting them.

NOTE: Keep an eye on Demand Surcharge and Peak Surcharge

Right now, we're paying particular attention to the phasing out of Demand Surcharge and Peak Surcharge on courier and parcel distribution.

There are different announcements from carriers about when these surcharges stop - and this can affect your actual shipping costs.

Our recommendation:

  • Check your invoices regularly - are Demand Surcharge and Peak Surcharge still included?

  • Compare with carrier communication - when should the surcharges have stopped?

  • Are you in doubt? Contact us and we can help you check your invoices
